UPDATE ON THE CONDITION OF REV. STEER

Rev. John Steer, founder of the Living Word Ministries, member group of the Coalition and past board member and chaplain of the Coalition. John served with the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam. Rev. Steer had undergone surgery and is now recovering. Following is the memo sent by his wife updating his condition. We wish John a speedy recovery and remember him in our prayers:

"Dear Friends, thank you so much for your e-mails wishing John, God's speedy recovery. I print the e-mails and take them up to the hospital to read to John. That means so much to him. I also take all the get well cards up to him and read them to him. I know it has been awhile since I have written and let you know about John's recovery. I stayed all night at the hos pital a couple nights and last night I didn't get back home til after 10 p.m, Well I have good news. John is out of the hospital and in a rehab facility. He got there last night about 7:30. Tomorrow they will start rehab with him. He is looking forward to rehab and to getting out of there and getting home. It has been 13 days since his surgery and he is starting to feel better. He still has pain in his chest when he coughs, but at least now he can breathe and not be in so much pain. Please continue to pray for him as his heart rate is still going up to 130 and higher. They would like for it to stay between 60 and 90. Also he is still on oxygen. Thank you again for your phone calls, e-mails and get well cards. I'm sorry if I didn't answer your phone calls, I will eventually get
around to it.

Love, Donna

P.S. For those of you locally, John is in the Hiram Shaddox Geriatric Center in Mountain Home in Room 406.

From Rev. Steer's daughter, Monique:

Hi from Monique. Talked with Mom earlier. Dad had his heart shocked today. It
seems to have done the job. Mom said that his heartrate was at 77 and regular
now. WOW! That's great compared to what it has been. Dad said he could
definitely tell a big difference. He's still being watched as I write this. The
Dr.s said that it could change to irregular again and if it does, they will have
to send him to Little Rock to see a specialist. We pray that it stays regular
and that he can start therapy soon. Thanks for your prayers.

Monique
